Shedd and Millenium park

We did a little touristing in the City on Monday. It was blazingly hot. We got ice creams and saw whales and got spit on by the Crown Fountain.

More Muskegon

Natalie's sand caves were called "Dragon Tunnels."

Gudrun fears not inchworms. Elliot fears not slugs.

Conner and Axel built a cool boat out of driftwood. It's good to have an engineer for a Dad.

Muskegon with the Hahns

Axel, Gudrun, Conner and Mona Hahn, our old buddies from Ann Arbor are in the states for summer vacation. We met up with them at PJ Hoffmaster State Park near Muskegon Michigan.

It totally rocked. Sandcastles, slugs, roasted marshmellows, big waves on Lake Michigan. Nutella that flowed like wine. Too much fun.

Prepping for Muskegon

Got sleeping bags for EB and Nata. Elliot says he's in his chrysalis preparing to become a butterfly.

Galena

We left straight from the last day of school to go to a conference at Eagle Ridge in Galena.

Elliot got to ride on a motorboat on the lake an spotted a bald eagle from the boat. Natalie and Dad spotted a bunny and found a Turkey Vulture feather. Elliot collected a bunch of stuff and swam in the pool.

No one slept but, aside from that, the trip was delightful.

Last Day of School

There was a big party. Little siblings, Grandparents, Mom and Dads came. E.B. said he likes it better when we stay away but tough beans for him. Nata painted her face totally black and LOVED it.

Old School

E.B. busted out Daddy Hobbit's old Bears jacket. Dr. Pepper Junior Texas Rangers 1978 rule.

Frogs

Ok. We've got pets. Two frogs named "Dawn Junior" and "Dawn Junior the Second."

Elliot and Nata spent half of yesterday watching them swim around in their container which includes a snail for poop clean up.

UPDATE: Dawn Junior the Second has been renamed "August."
