Shoes

Jules got some new 3 inch heels from Pump. A bit hard to see under a long dress, at night, in a Blackberry photo.

Monticello Final

I forgot to post the Mini Me pic last night.

Natalie kept saying she wanted to see the "amaze." That may be the cutest thing I've ever heard.

Elliot and Grandma had the famous sunken garden conversation.

Monticello More

We got really lucky on day two. By the time we ate and went for a quick swim, the weather turned beautiful. We snuck around the main house at Allerton and Grandma B showed the kids her bizarre childhood home. Then it was koi grabbing and turtle feeding (salted peanuts work pretty well).

Nata was "fishing" for the koi sculpture.

Incidentally, the tie was purchased at a downtown consignment store the night before. EBD fell in love with it.

Monticello Day 1 - Nature Bits

Brought the big boy camera and went a little nuts with the macro function. Lots of little living things in the woods of Allerton.

Trip to Monitcello

We left right after soccer and ducked south of most of the rain, it seemed. We lunched at the Brown Bag and then headed for Buck's trail. Dry creek beds are cool, especially when they are full of green walnuts.

Blue Demons battle on

An 8am start was a bit rough. EBD was battling a cold too. The Blue Demons lost again 4 - 1 but fought honorably. Elliot's goal saved them from clean sheet.

Natalie called Colina and she met us at the field in her invisible speed car, which was cool. Grandma just drove her Camry.

Cold Lake Michigan - Bobby and the kids hit the drink

Julie says, "I got my toes wet!"

Elliot wanted it to be clear that this was "REALLY REALLY COLD WATER."

Apple Picking #2

Pony rides, pumpkins, apple donuts. It really would be tough to top. Plus, the rain didn't start falling until we got in the car to head home. Thank goodness Larry brought his knife. We must have filleted and eaten a dozen apples as we picked. Cortlands and Honeycrisps were the big favorites. Fresh golden and red delicious apples were pretty awesome too.

Apple Picking

We headed to Garwood Orchards in Indiana and were joined by Jenny and Smilla, Larry and Sue. It was touristy enough to be a lot of fun but not super cheesed out. They had some horse drawn conveyances to take us around the place. Nata's first apple came with lots of leaves and really cracked her up. As you can see, Julie and Sue had no fun at all.

Gma B REALLY likes gelato.

We decided that blood orange gelato is the solution to all of life's problems.

A Pauline/Piper mix up

Nata poses in some of her awesome new hand-me-downs.

Post game Lake Michigan hang out

The Blue Demons lost 2 to 1 but played great. EBD had the lone goal. "I didn't want another clean sheet," he said.

Happy Hour

Pretty impressive showing tonight. Special guests: Ms. Russell, Joe, Lou and Kelly Rat in from the Duck. Nata got a sweet hand me down coat from Pauline. Also, Jayde and Greta had a baby stand off. We ended up with an extra case of beer or so.
Sweet.
