Miko's Italian ice

Montana #6 - Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park

On the way back to Butte, we stopped by the caverns. Dad realized his fear of enclosed spaces includes small caves so he missed the tour but it was apparently pretty awesome.

Montana #5

Montana #4 - Two Medicine + Loons?

It was cool and rainy up at Two Medicine but the ferry boat across the lake, unlimited Huckleberry picking and tiny trees helped improve the mood.

At camp, campfires, sunsets and possible loons were pretty cool.

Montana #3 - Logan Pass and McDonald Creek

We drove up Going-to-the-Sun Road and hiked up near Logan Pass.

Then we drove down lower and hiked along McDonald Creek. While resting by the creek we met a bee which Nata named "B da B B B B flower." Don't ask.

Montana #2 - Avalache Lake

This was a very cool first hike. There was a bear and Elliot defeated the  Montana boys in a test of who could stay in the snowmelt fed creek the longest. The boys + Owie slid down a big rock on the trail. Isaak's butt was hanging out by the end. Nata and Dad dipped heads in the lake too. Fortunately their squeals were not captured for posterity.

Most importantly, Nata learned about the trail faerie who leaves gummy worms along trails to keep kids motivated to continue hiking uphill.
