More Block Party

Elliot drew a cool desert scene in the sidewalk chalk contest. He also attended the honky tonk band concert. Nata ate several hot dogs and slept for an hour in a metal chair.

Big day.

Block Party!

Sunday was our block party as well. Lots of great folks came by.

Wicker Park Fest

Julie had her fest this weekend. It was a big success.

Three Layer Cake

Bananas Foster Chocolate Fudge.

Overnight at Bonnie's

The kids spent Friday night with Bonnie and the Bean.

Elliot got dressed up as a Viking warrior (no smiles - this is very serious).

Nata, shockingly, was a princess. Big fun was had by all though nobody slept much (again).

After, we went out for Thai food on Central Street.

Door Pics #3

Door Pics #2

Door for the 4th

We headed back north over the 4th. The Schuerr minivan + the Gram house = smooth sailing.

Highlights included: Grandma Bonnie. Dawn and the big boys' cool fighting game. Swimming in Lake Michigan (clearer and colder than Nicolet Bay), yummy sausages from Andy's Deli Mikolajczyk Sausage Shop and Nottoli. A big hike down to Fish Creek in which we caught a water bug in a minnow net and found a secret fort. Kayaking. Riding a double bike for the first time with Mom. Not Licked Yet Custard. Guitar music around a fire.

Last Chicago pics

More City Pics

Oh yeah, there were pirates involved.

Shedd and Millenium park

We did a little touristing in the City on Monday. It was blazingly hot. We got ice creams and saw whales and got spit on by the Crown Fountain.

More Muskegon

Natalie's sand caves were called "Dragon Tunnels."

Gudrun fears not inchworms. Elliot fears not slugs.

Conner and Axel built a cool boat out of driftwood. It's good to have an engineer for a Dad.

Muskegon with the Hahns

Axel, Gudrun, Conner and Mona Hahn, our old buddies from Ann Arbor are in the states for summer vacation. We met up with them at PJ Hoffmaster State Park near Muskegon Michigan.

It totally rocked. Sandcastles, slugs, roasted marshmellows, big waves on Lake Michigan. Nutella that flowed like wine. Too much fun.
